Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala

Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala is highly motivated and passionate about the power which art has to rehabilitate and shift societal perception. The dignity of an African identity is a catalyst in much of her work which sees her confronting stereotypical constructs of the “black face” in performance.

A fervent originator, her body of work includes It’s Not Over Until the Fat Phat Lady Sings (SA, Paris, Bern, Belgium), Is This Africa? Put A Cross On The Appropriate Woman, Lest We Forget, Ziyakhipha… come dance with us and Ngicing’uBeauty (Searching for Beauty.)

Her 2006 Standard Bank Young Artist Award choreographic work, Ziyakhipha…come dance with us, was showcased at the National Arts Main Festival and went on to win the MEC Choreographic Award for Outstanding Original Work.

Collaborative works include What is Black Music Anyway / Self Portraits with Faustin Linyekula, commissioned by MOMA New York in 2012, TRAPPED with Princess Mhlongo for the National Arts Festival and the Salzburg Festival; Cabaret with Via Katlehong at the Theatre National de Chaillot, Paris; Highway to Heaven Paradise with Sdu Majola produced by Studios Kabako, which premiered at the Dance Dialogues Africa Programme in Germany in 2014 and played with great success locally after concluding the German tour.  

Theatre credits include Far From the Madding Crowd, Lost in the Stars, Hairspray, African Queens, And the Girls in their Sunday Dresses, Touch My Blood, Modus Vivendi, Gogo and Big Sister, Curl up and Dye, Baron Samedi, Music in the Air, The Story I’m About to Tell, In the End is My Beginning and Sophiatown. 

She has also appeared on screen in the film District 9 and on TV in Gaz’lam, Society, Greed and Desire and currently in Tjovitjo.

She is the co-founding member of an alternative performance space called The Plat4orm.

Pearl Modiadie is an award-winning television presenter, radio DJ, voice over artist, event MC and social media influencer.

Pearl has been a television presenter since she was a child when she presented on E-TV’s Craze Kid Television Show in 2007. Pearl has gone onto present on other television shows such as Sisterhood, Raw Silk, Expresso, It Takes a Village and the massively successful Zaziwe - A music talk show which occupied the prime-time slot boasting millions of viewers each week and which Pearl won a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best TV Presenter.

Radio Highlights- The year; 2009 gave Pearl the opportunity to further explore her talent, this time behind the mic on Gauteng’s youth radio station YFM. She went onto bagging her own radio show called The Natural High on weekends between 00:00 - 03:00 between 2010 and 2011. The year 2012 proved to be fruitful when she was moved to another slot, this time hosting The Jumpstart, a weekend breakfast show between 6:00 – 9:00. 2015, Pearl moved to national radio station ,Metro FM, where she hosted The Lunch show between 12:00 – 15:00 on weekdays and then began co-hosting with Thomas Msengana. The radio station boasts just under 7 million listeners. Today, Pearl is part of the Primedia team and works as radio DJ at 947.

Pearl has proudly MC’d many high-profile events such as The SAFTAS, (The South African Film and Television Awards) MetroFM Music Awards, Mbokodo Women in the Arts Awards, Crown Gospel Music Awards and the Audi Festival of Motoring.

Pearl has worked as a brand and campaign ambassador with multiple brands and campaigns including some such as Standard Bank, Ponds, Always, Shoprite, Ackermans, Lux, Edgars and PEP. Her influence with her social media followers (3.6 million followers on Instagram) and her unique approach and style offers clients huge value, who many return to work with Pearl again.

About Fikile Moeti

Fikile Moeti, commonly known as "Fix" is a well-known South African Radio presenter; DJ and TV Personality turned Social Entrepreneur.

Fix, made MTV history when she became the first female VJ on ‘MTV networks Africa’. The entrepreneurial beauty has graced our screens on the African continent since 2006 when she won a nationwide competition to become MTV base’s first female VJ presenter. Since then the multi-talented entertainer also joined South Africa’s No.1 Commercial radio station, 5FM - hosting the Forbes & Fix Show and becoming a household name on daytime radio.

Fix The Social Entreprenuer

Constantly striving to enhance herself as an Entrepreneur, Fix went back to school, studying Small Business/ Entrepreneurship at both Columbia College Chicago and New York University, after 6 years in the entertainment industry. Fix continued her studies by enrolling at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) for the Social Entrepreneurship Since graduating, she has partnered with GIBS to start a social enterprise called the Fix Scholarship, where she offers educational and leadership opportunities to female social innovators in Africa. Having funded her first two students directly from pocket, 10 years later the programme is a sustainable NPO in partnership with corporate stakeholders and over 30 alumni. In 2022, Fix Scholarship in partnership with Diketo Inclusive Education launched Affirmations For The African Child – an inclusive educational and mental health product to encourage healing for kids, families, classes, clinics and therapy centers.

Fix The DJ

Fix enjoys bringing people together (‘Ubuntu’ as we say in Xhosa culture) and found a way to do just that through her love for music. She bought her first vinyl at the age of 15 and fell inlove with the DJ world later siging up with Soul Candi’s DJ/Record Label. Having lived in the UK at an early age, and later living in the US in her early 20’s, Fix’s DJ sets are elcetic ranging from club/dance classics to soulful, groovy and deep house.

Fix & Mindfulness

Fix began her mindfulness journey in the US in 2010. She is a registered 400 Level Instructor under Yoga Alliance International. She is also a student of Transcendental Meditation, Breath work Africa facilitation and a wellness corporate mentor with Mindful Revolution South Africa.

Lesedi Job

Lesedi Job is an award-winning theatre director, actress and voiceover artist.

Upon graduating she was cast in the Lion and the Jewel at the Market Theatre and has worked consistently over the years as an actress in both theatre and television.

As an actress one of her distinct abilities is her voice, which led her to her career as a voiceover artist that spans well over 10 yrs.

In 2016 Lesedi embarked on her journey to becoming a theatre director when she was part of workshopping a new Musical in Toronto receiving mentorship from British director Adrian Noble.

In 2017 her directorial debut was Mike Van Graan’s When Swallows Cry at the Market Theatre which won her a Naledi Theatre award for Best Director and also won awards for Best New South African Script and Best Production. This play under her direction has gone on to be performed at the 2018 Ethiopia African Union Conference, 2018 Geneva Peace Week and 2018 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development.

She has since directed Itsoseng, Helen of Troyeville, Dead Tinder Society, Meet me at Dawn starring Pamela Nomvete and Natasha Sutherland, Congo; the trial of King Leopold ii starring Robert Whitehead and Dr John Kani and Brutal Legacy an adaptation of Tracy Going’s memoir addressing the issue of gender-based violence. The theatre production Brutal Legacy is now part of the documentary That’s What She Said which Lesedi has also co-produced as part of YesGirlProductions. In 2022 she directed Kill Move Paradise in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and in 2023 she worked as resident director on the South African musical Calling Us Home alongside New York based director Peter Flynn.

In 2019 Lesedi mentored director’s in Nairobi for the Kampala International Theatre Festival in Uganda as part of the Nairobi Musical Theatre Initiative in collaboration with Sundance Theatre in New York.

She is a recipient of the Sophie Mgcina Emerging Voice Award, Mbokodo Women in Arts Award for Theatre and was nominated as a candidate for the prestigious Rolex Mentorship Protégé Arts Initiative.

Dineo ‘Moeketsi’ Langa

Dineo 'Moeketsi' Langa

The National School of the Arts graduate beat out over 3000 contestants to the final stages of the O-Access presenter search to take the most highly coveted job in entertainment on the African continent.

But her talents go way further than that, she has previously sung backing vocals for Flash Republic, and showcased her skills in several roles, including Soul City 10 and the independent feature film Skyf.

She also impressed in her cameo role in Winnie, the story of Winnie Mandela and her supporting role in Jacob's Cross. Since then she has also presented O News and 411 for Channel O, V-Prime and V-Entertainment on Vuzu and was also the co-host of the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards.

Dineo’s relaxed presenting style and professionalism was also showcased as she presented the Big Brother TV Final in 2011, and was V-Entertainment and O-Access's Red Carpet Host at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.

From several high profile public speaking engagements, like being MC at Drum Magazine's 60th birthday concert and The Street Cred Urban Festival in 2011, to working as a voice-over artist for diverse clients such as One Gospel Channel to Kotex and even the Madam and Eve TV Pilot.

In 2012, Dineo reported from the red carpet at the 9th Annual Channel O Africa Music Video Awards. She also portrayed the character of Lindiwe in a South African science fiction police procedural television series, Room 9 and began Vuzu’s V-Entertainment alongside Lalla Hirayama, Siyabonga Ngwekazi and Thomas.

In 2013, she guest-starred on the second season of the SABC 1 sitcom, My Perfect Family.

In 2014, she appeared as herself in the Vuzu satirical mockumentary, Check Coast. In mid 2014 Dineo was a guest on the third season of e.tv’s talk show ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall. At the end of the year she co-hosted Mzansi Magic’s reality series, My Perfect Proposal.

In April 2015 Dineo began co-hosting e.tv’s talk show, Ekse Zwakala, October saw e.tv announce via their website that Dineo was joining the channel’s soap opera, Scandal!, where she portrayed the character of Naledi Thebe.

In 2016 - 2020, Dineo plays the part of Kea in Mzanzi Magic’s The Queen, moving in 2021 on to S3's (Previously SABC 3) The Estate playing the role of Mmakoena Molefe,  whilst continuing to lend her talent to MC and voice over work. Dineo shows a professionalism, versatility and passion in all her work. There is no doubt she attracts attention wherever she goes.

Gord Laws is a voice-actor, radio personality, public speaker and internet comic with a decade's experience talking into microphones for love, money and laughs.

Gord is best known for both his straight, bright, hard and soft-sell deliveries, as well as his extensive range of character voices, including his widely used "Movie Guy" and "Joburg Boytjie" deliveries, among numerous others. A graduate in Theatre and Performance from UCT, talented Biderman-Pam is a classically-trained actor with theatrical, movie and advertising experience. At the tender age of 14 he interpreted the role of Johnny in Discovery Channel's historical shark gore-fest '12 Days of Terror'.

In 2005, he played Hamlet in '15 Minute Hamlet' at the Memorial Theatre before going on to play romantic leads Lysander in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and Romeo in 'Romeo & Juliet', as well as the title role in 'Agamemnon'.

In 2011, he played David Levitt in South African anti-war classic 'Somewhere on the Border' at the Grahamstown Festival, a role he reprised at the Market Theatre, Johannesburg in 2012. In 2011, he made his international theatrical debut at the UNESCO International Theatre Institute, Boston, Massachusetts interpreting the role of The Professor in 'The Lesson' by IONESCO, a leading exponent of the 'theatre of the absurd' movement.

Most recently, Biderman-Pam has been seen in the role of The Duke in Shakespeare's 'Othello' at the POPart Theatre, Maboneng Precinct. Among his other claims to fame, Biderman-Pam has the honour of appearing in the fastest film ever made, Team Best's 'Shotgun Garfunkel'.

Biderman-Pam is the winner of Comedy Central and Goliath & Goliath's 'The Box Comedy Open Spot Competition' on Sunday 2 June which means that he will perform at Parker's Comedy & Jive at the end of June with some of the country's best comics.
