Zinzi Zungu

Zinzi Zungu was born in the heart of Durban, where her television career began at the age of 16 as a regional TV presenter for ETV’s children’s show Craze. Zinzi performed in many corporate videos and also did voices for Craze and many different radio stations in Durban.

Her career didn’t stop there as her love for the arts saw her move to Johannesburg to attend the prestigious South African School of Motion Picture and Live Performance – AFDA. Zinzi has performed in a number of theatre shows, including “Pata Pata” at the Civic Theatre in Johannesburg and the musical “Le Shebeen” (directed by Deon Opperman), which toured to the Grahamstown Festival of the Arts and was aired on SABC2. From there Zinzi officially became the face of SABC3 when it re-launched a new brand image.

During that period she MC’d many gigs such as SA Fashion Week, the launch of the SABC3 drama series The Lab, and the J&B Met. In 2010 Zinzi joined the cast of the E-TV soapie Scandal in the role of Thokozile, a rural girl looking to get ahead in the big city.

Zinzi Zungu is a woman of many talents; actress, voice over artist, presenter and MC.

Thando Thabethe

Thando Thabethe

Born and bred in the city of lights Johannesburg, Thando had an insatiable desire to see her dreams become a reality, which saw her career begin at the tender age of 13. The realization that entertainment was her calling saw her star in various theatre productions before landing her first TV gig at the age of 14. This was merely the beginning of a revolution in the entertainment industry.

Thando discovered her love for radio at UJFM while at University of Johannesburg studying towards her Bcom Accounting degree, when asked she says, “Radio found me”. Thando found herself gradually making her mark on the airwaves. In 2010 she was head hunted by the YFM programs manager to join the biggest youth radio station in South Africa. Her Charisma and ability to connect with young people on a level many struggle to, saw her soaring from hosting a graveyard show to a primetime show in a matter of 6 months. Thando has since left YFM and joined 5FM in May 2014 where she was part of the afternoon drive show with Roger Goode giving us our daily dose of traffic, as well as hosting her own show "Beats By Demand" on Sundays between 10:00 & 14:00. From there Thando moved into the weekdays 10:00 – 13:00 slot hosting her own show, The Thando Thabooty Show, a year later she became the first female to host a drive time show on 5FM, The Thabooty Drive. In 2020, Thando moved to 947 and currently hosts The Drive with Thando on 947, weekdays 3pm to 7pm.

Thando Thabethe got her chance to move from theatre productions to on screen in 2010 when she landed the role of” Thando Nkosi” on the hit Sitcom “My Perfect Family” The show is ranked the 6th most viewed show and the 2nd most viewed comedy in SA with a viewership of over 3 000 000. The show went on to see a total of 3 seasons with Thando starring  alongside legends, Lillian Dube, John Lata and Baby Cele.

Thando starred in the lead role of Nolwazi Buzo in the biggest soapie in South Africa, Generations- The Legacy, which boasts close to 9 Million Viewers and the lead role of Zinhle Malinga in the upcoming feature film Love Lives Here. Hosting her own talk show Thando Bares All on TLC, which highlighted the extraordinary ways people live their lives. Other highlights include REYKA and BLOOD PSALMS on MNET and recently How To Ruin Christmas- The Wedding in 2020 and the sequel The Funeral in 2021, a series for Netflix.

Thando Thabethe has been highly requested for her MC work for various activations, both corporate and commercial around SA since 2010. Most recently she was the choice for the biggest CSI concert in the world, CokeRockCore and the biggest Hip-hop event in SA, Maftown Heights. She has also had the honor to host the biggest award ceremonies in South Africa, namely, The South African Music Awards and the South African Film & Television awards.

Thoroughly  involved within her community and very passionate about uplifting the girl child, Thando  hosts motivational talks in which she sheds light on her path in the hopes of changing other people’s lives, she adopts young girls annually for national take a girl child to work day, and raises funds for abused women & children through her annual Thando Thabethe Women’s Day Netball Challenge initiative.

Arguably one of the hardest working women in the South African showbiz scene.  Relebogile Mabotja continues to stamp her authority as one of the best talents in the entertainment industry with her radio and voice over work, acting & presenting appearances, the production and musical directing work she does with her company Lebotja Media, Black Swan and more.

Relebogile’s talent extends to producing for television, commercials and music videos. She is very passionate about women empowerment and being a voice of reason in issues concerning women. Relebogile Mabotja has been in the media and entertainment business for 17 years with a host of skills. She was introduced to the television screens as a presenter in 2004 with CrazE on eTV. What followed was Gospel Grooves (eTV), 12 Day of Christmas (SABC 2), Nando’s TV (Soweto TV), Dance Your Butt Off Season 1 and 2 (SABC 1), TrendingSA (SABC 3 – Week Guest Host) and over a decade over emcee and hosting gigs. 2019 saw her Real Time Channel 155 as their ambassador.

She is the Producer behind projects the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, Afro Café, Metro FM’s Live Red Carpet Show for RGB, eTV’s Business Battle and Musical Director of Afro Café, I Love South Africa, The Sing Off South Africa, Star The Winner Is (Nigeria) and Tecno Own The Stage (Nigeria).

She is the founder and managing director of Lebotja Media, a music production house, record label and publishing company that’s been operational since 2013. Lebotja Media has produced promo on-air for SABC and Africa Magic, music for SABC 2, television shows Mzansi Insider (SABC 1), Sunday Chillas (SABC 1), Afro Café (SABC 2) and I Love South Africa (eTV) to name a few. She is also a director and shareholder of Black Swan Media, producers of The Voice South Africa and The Single Wives SA on Mnet.

Relebogile’s distinctive voice has been heard in films, documentaries, television and radio ads and promos for over a decade working with various brands. Relebogile’s radio journey began at Talk Radio 702. She went on to host the Early Breakfast before moving to Metro FM as a co-host and news reader for the Fresh Breakfast Show. She later went on to join the afternoon drive show, The King’s Suite.

Relebogile has a certificate in Entertainment Law from the University of Johannesburg and has a certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of South Africa and has trained for board directorship and chairmanship through IODSA. She previously sat on the board of the National Eisteddfod Academy and chaired the board of the Southern African Music Rights Organisation.

While winner and nominee of various awards over the years, she has recently been nominated as Best News Reader for a Commercial Station at the South African Radio Awards 2020 and won in the categories of Woman in Media and overall winner at the Woman in Stature Awards 2020.

Noluthando "Nolly" Meje

Noluthando ‘Nolly’ Meje Nqayi is one of the countries most loved and sought after celebrities – having spent over a decade as a leading actress, television presenter, model, singer and songwriter.

Having cut her teeth as a Top 12 finalist on the ‘Idols’ reality series in 2003, Nolly was catapulted into the spotlight. She would later return to the competition in 2011, where she would reach Top 10 status.

Since the age of five Nolly has been on television in various capacities. She has acted in numerous drama series’ including ‘Shooting Stars’, ‘HomeAffairs’’ and ‘The Interrogation Room’. She currently plays Faith, a lead role in the Afrikaans drama series ‘Swartwater’.

Despite her busy acting and presenting schedule, Nolly continues to record her own music and release her songs publicly. This is one aspect of her career that will always be important to her and she plans on recording a new album in the near future.

Lala Tuku

Lala Tuku

Lala Tuku (née Monamodi) is a South African actress, television presenter, director, producer, vocal coach and events entrepreneur best known for her role as socialite swinger Paris Zondi in the e.tv soapie Scandal!.

She also had a role in the SABC1 soapie Generations, hosted the SABC2 magazine programme Life 24/7 and starred in the SABC1 mini-series Dream World, an adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, set in a contemporary South African setting.

Lala attended the AFDA School of Film and Live Performance and in 2006 established the corporate entertainment consulting company Corporate Icons, that conceptualises and produces large scale events.

She was also a producer on the SABC1 celebrity gossip show The Real Goboza (2009) and the religious programme Top Gospel, in 2010. In addition, she was an assistant director on the youth soapie Backstage.

Former Head of New Business Development and Communications Director at Clive Morris Productions, Lala is now the Head of Local Productions at the SABC.

With her extensive acting background Lala is an exceptional voice artist and is great at a variety of delivery styles as well as being fluent in English, Sesotho and Setswana.

Her 2006 Standard Bank Young Artist Award choreographic work, Ziyakhipha...come dance with us, was showcased at the National Arts Main Festival and went on to win the MEC Choreographic Award for Outstanding Original Work.

Collaborative works include What is Black Music Anyway / Self Portraits with Faustin Linyekula, commissioned by MOMA New York in 2012, TRAPPED with Princess Mhlongo for the National Arts Festival and the Salzburg Festival; Cabaret with Via Katlehong at the Theatre National de Chaillot, Paris; Highway to Heaven Paradise with Sdu Majola produced by Studios Kabako, which premiered at the Dance Dialogues Africa Programme in Germany in 2014 and played with great success locally after concluding the German tour.  

Theatre credits include Far From the Madding Crowd, Lost in the Stars, Hairspray, African Queens, And the Girls in their Sunday Dresses, Touch My Blood, Modus Vivendi, Gogo and Big Sister, Curl up and Dye, Baron Samedi, Music in the Air, The Story I’m About to Tell, In the End is My Beginning and Sophiatown. 

She has also appeared on screen in the film District 9 and on TV in Gaz’lam, Society, Greed and Desire and currently in Tjovitjo.

She is the co-founding member of an alternative performance space called The Plat4orm.

Pearl Modiadie is an award-winning television presenter, radio DJ, voice over artist, event MC and social media influencer.

Pearl has been a television presenter since she was a child when she presented on E-TV’s Craze Kid Television Show in 2007. The year 2012 proved to be fruitful when she was moved to another slot, this time hosting The Jumpstart, a weekend breakfast show between 6:00 – 9:00. 2015, Pearl moved to national radio station ,Metro FM, where she hosted The Lunch show between 12:00 – 15:00 on weekdays and then began co-hosting with Thomas Msengana. The radio station boasts just under 7 million listeners. Today, Pearl is part of the Primedia team and works as radio DJ at 947.

Pearl has proudly MC’d many high-profile events such as The SAFTAS, (The South African Film and Television Awards) MetroFM Music Awards, Mbokodo Women in the Arts Awards, Crown Gospel Music Awards and the Audi Festival of Motoring.

Lesedi Job is an award-winning theatre director, actress and voiceover artist.

Upon graduating she was cast in the Lion and the Jewel at the Market Theatre and has worked consistently over the years as an actress in both theatre and television.

As an actress one of her distinct abilities is her voice, which led her to her career as a voiceover artist that spans well over 10 yrs.

In 2016 Lesedi embarked on her journey to becoming a theatre director when she was part of workshopping a new Musical in Toronto receiving mentorship from British director Adrian Noble.

In 2017 her directorial debut was Mike Van Graan’s When Swallows Cry at the Market Theatre which won her a Naledi Theatre award for Best Director and also won awards for Best New South African Script and Best Production. This play under her direction has gone on to be performed at the 2018 Ethiopia African Union Conference, 2018 Geneva Peace Week and 2018 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development.

She has since directed Itsoseng, Helen of Troyeville, Dead Tinder Society, Meet me at Dawn starring Pamela Nomvete and Natasha Sutherland, Congo; the trial of King Leopold ii starring Robert Whitehead and Dr John Kani and Brutal Legacy an adaptation of Tracy Going’s memoir addressing the issue of gender-based violence. The theatre production Brutal Legacy is now part of the documentary That’s What She Said which Lesedi has also co-produced as part of YesGirlProductions. In 2022 she directed Kill Move Paradise in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and in 2023 she worked as resident director on the South African musical Calling Us Home alongside New York based director Peter Flynn.

In 2019 Lesedi mentored director’s in Nairobi for the Kampala International Theatre Festival in Uganda as part of the Nairobi Musical Theatre Initiative in collaboration with Sundance Theatre in New York.

She is a recipient of the Sophie Mgcina Emerging Voice Award, Mbokodo Women in Arts Award for Theatre and was nominated as a candidate for the prestigious Rolex Mentorship Protégé Arts Initiative.
